ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS

Software Engineering
Develops computer software programs for narrowly defined product specifications as part of the product design process. This involves:

  • Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting product performance specifications that outline specific tasks for each design module
  • Composing computer programs using programming language
  • Testing programs written to ensure that they will perform well under all circumstances
  • Completing all necessary documentation for submission to the customer
Systems Engineering
Provides an opportunity to work with the lead engineer responsible for meeting technical requirements, which include:
  • Development of system requirements
  • Overall system architecture
  • Radar/IFF Mode design
  • Performance Analysis
  • Systems design definition and documentation
  • Test and integration methodology and documentation
  • Customer interface and field testing
Electrical Engineering
Develops and tests electrical and mechanical components for specific projects and systems. This involves:
  • Researching electronic equipment
  • Designing electrical systems based on customer specifications
  • Coordinating activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of components
Mechanical Engineering
Designs and packages complex electro-mechanical parts and assemblies according to specifications and performance requirements. This involves:
  • Developing product-testing procedures
  • Providing technical support to production personnel
  • Preparing engineering change notices to incorporate changes into the production process
  • Directing and coordinating fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to specifications
Computer (Hardware) Engineering
Involved in the installation, repair, and servicing of specific project and system components. Will be involved with information technology hardware. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Creating detailed design descriptions to support source code development
  • Familiarity with software development process
  • Working in correlation with electrical engineers and software engineers
Manufacturing Engineering
Provides engineering support to the production area to maintain optimum levels of productivity in terms of cycle times and quality.
  • Coordinates the introduction of new assembly processes on to the production floor by preparing operation sheets that describe specific production tasks
  • Partners with design engineers throughout the design process from concept to prototype in order to ensure that maximum production efficiency
