Identification Friend or Foe (IFF)
Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems fulfill a mission-critical role in today's sophisticated conflict scenarios. They determine with great speed and precision the identity and position of an unknown airborne vehicle. For over 40 years, Radar Systems has produced hundreds of field-proven, highly-reliable, IFF Systems and Target Extractors that provide the core of a multitude of Air Traffic Control and Air Defense Systems.
With their state-of-the-art monopulse technology, advanced target extractor processing, and scan-to-scan correlation; they also incorporate self-test, high-performance algorithms, and full interrogation and receiver side lobe suppression.

Making use of state-of-the-art multi-mode monopulse technology, flexible open-systems architectures, advanced code correction algorithms, unique digital-extraction technology, and high-speed signal processing, the MMSSR represents an unparalleled achievement in multi-mission IFF interrogators.
In today's complex shipboard, air traffic control, and air defense radar environments, state-of-the-art multi-sensor correlation, tracking, and data fusion is a mandatory requirement. Radar Systems' cost-effective, field-proven, target extractors have been meeting these requirements for over 20 years. The Beacon Target Extractor (BTE) and Search Target Extractor (STE) convert primary and secondary radar video into detected digital target outputs. The Combined Target Extractor (CTE) merges the BTE and STE functions with a Multi-Scan Fusion Track Processor to achieve the ultimate in correlation and target extraction.
Radar Systems' target extractors efficiently process huge amounts of target data from multiple sources. They use a unique combination of advanced processing techniques to achieve maximum target detection sensitivity, while minimizing false target reports. Their open-architecture design uses commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) VME cards that monitor their own performance and detect faults down to the card level.
