The NIMROD MRA 4 Program is a modernization effort for the Nimrod Antisubmarine Warfare (ASW) aircraft - Telephonics is the developer and integrator for the Radio Control System (RCS) supplied to BAE Systems. This program includes Telephonics providing its TCOMSS fiber optic communications network product as the aircraft communications backbone.
The RCS provides both interior voice communications and exterior voice and data communications for the host aircraft. Telephonics performs in-house systems integration, and is presently leading in the integration of the communication system into the overall aircraft mission system.
