Systems Engineering Group
Founded in 1991, Systems Engineering Group, Inc. (SEG) is a wholly-owned subsidiary and operating division of Telephonics Corporation (a Griffon Company). With over 90 employees, principally located in Columbia, MD, SEG provides sophisticated, highly technical engineering and analytic support to select customers including the Missile Defense Agency, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Program, Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona and Dahlgren Divisions, the Navy's Program Executive Offices for Integrated Warfare Systems and Ships, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), and the Marine Corps Systems Command. Our technical staff is superbly educated, trained and recognized for their expertise.

Since early in its history, SEG has been a provider of air and missile defense threat engineering; combat, radar and missile systems engineering and analysis; software development; and test and evaluation. In addition to its government customers, SEG provides engineering and software development support for Telephonics' maritime surveillance and ground based radar product lines. The company's main offices are located in Columbia, MD with field offices in Dahlgren, VA and Washington, DC. The majority of the company's professional staff holds advanced degrees in electrical, mechanical and aerospace engineering, physics and computer science and is led by SEG's President, John Geary.

SEG is working with the Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Navy to provide detailed understanding and engineering characterizations of threat ballistic missiles for use in ballistic missile defense system design and evaluation. SEG's areas of expertise include: high fidelity threat missile modeling and simulation, foreign weapon research and development, and missile systems engineering, design and performance analysis. The company is also supporting Navy and Marine Corps efforts to perform combat and radar system engineering on current and advanced air defense systems. This includes threat definition, system requirements analysis and identification of system issues and solution development.
SEG is organized into three divisions: Threat and Weapons Systems Engineering, Radar Systems Engineering, and Engineering Support Services. In 2005, SEG was acquired by Telephonics.
