Sky Loran

The patent pending Sky Loran system provides Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) to users

(primarily dismounted soldiers) in support of DoD expeditionary missions in GPS-denied or spoofed environments via existing air/vehicle platforms.

The Telephonics Advantage

    • Incorporates Physics-Based Super Resolution (PBSR) to increase SAR image resolution and improve map mensuration
    • Rubidium clock timing reference provides GPS-quality timing information to the ground
    • SAR maps mensurated against digital terrain/feature maps using a proprietary algorithm establishes signal source locations with high degree of accuracy, estimated at several meters

Additional Benefits

    • Ability to correct for changes in signal source location due to platform movement and/or buffeting due to wind
    • Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals from Sky Loran are more difficult to spoof and also enhance jam resistance
    • A ruggedized iPhone can serve as the Special Operations Forces (SOF’s) Tactical Computing Device (TCD)
