AN/UPX-43

Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator

The AN/UPX-43 is a Mark XIIA, monopulse and AIMS certified IFF interrogator designed for command and control. It enables air traffic controllers and air defenders to identify military and civilian aircraft, verify forces as friendly and determine their bearing and range. The AN/UPX-43 also provides multi-channel Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and has been deployed in airborne, shipboard and ground-based environments. The system complies with all U.S. and international specifications that define interrogator modes, performance, control, reporting and interface. To easily introduce performance upgrades, the system uses common module hardware and software for the detection, interrogation, identification, tracking and data extraction of small targets in severe environments.

The Telephonics Advantage

    • All-Mode capable with multi-channel ADS-B
    • Flexible open-system architecture
    • Adaptive interrogation rate management
    • Advanced code correction algorithms
    • Digital-extraction technology
    • Robust tracking
    • State-of-the-art monopulse technology, target extractor processing and scan-to-scan correlation

Additional Benefits

    • Built-in technology growth path
    • High-speed signal processing
    • Delivers reply processing, target detection and tracking in all interrogator modes
    • Capable of operation with two-channel Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) or monopulse antenna configuration
