  • SEG Sponsors Robotics Team

  • Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that its subsidiary, Systems Engineering Group (SEG), is sponsoring the Calvin Coolidge High School Robotics team in Washington DC during the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics program. FIRST encourages students to engage in critical Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields and SEG engineers will directly mentor Calvin Coolidge’s participating students during the design and build of the FIRST 100-pound robot competition.

    “We are proud to support participation during the FIRST robotics competition as this program helps to drive enrollment in STEM-related classes and enables students to gain important problem solving and communications skills,” said, Mike Anderson, Vice President and General Manager, SEG. “We hope that participation inspires and creates a life-changing experience for these students.
