  • Telephonics’ President and CEO Receives Honorary Chief Petty Officer Designation from United States Coast Guard

Press Releases on March 03, 2014

  • Telephonics Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that their President and CEO, Joseph J. Battaglia, has been awarded the honorary title of Chief Petty Officer of the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Michael Leavitt (left) and Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Bob Papp (right) present Joseph Battaglia with the honorary title of Chief Petty Officer in front of Coast Guard Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery.

A very rare distinction, the honorary title of Chief Petty Officer makes the recipient a non-commissioned officer of the USCG. Chief Battaglia was selected for this prestigious designation after decades of steadfast and active support of USCG programs and the Coast Guard Foundation. Beyond Telephonics corporate sponsorship, Chief Battaglia has devoted many hours of personal time over the years to grassroots USCG-related endeavors, large and small.

“This is an incredible honor and one I will always be thankful for,” said Chief Battaglia. “In my personal and professional life, I have had numerous opportunities to work closely with active and retired members of the USCG. After witnessing first hand their dedication to their country and their families for so many years, I am very humbled to receive this recognition from those I greatly admire and respect.”

Telephonics and Griffon Corporations congratulate Chief Battaglia on his esteemed title and recognition by the USCG.
